Preserving our Past for the Future

About the Blogger

Welcome to our blog, my name is Brian Failing and I am the curator of the Museums at Lisle Station Park. I have been the curator since June 2009. We created this blog to showcase not only Lisle and it’s history but Chicago’s as well.  Periodically we will update the blog to include upcoming events at the museum and book reviews of books pertaining to Chicago history . We have alot of new and exciting stuff happening at the museum and I hope you come by and check us out. Tours are always free!

I currently am attending North Central College in Naperville, Illinois pursuing a degree in History and Urban & Suburban Studies.

    Hi Brian:
I was happy to hear you yesterday morning on WGN with Rick. You were in the right place at the right time! Rick’s show is a wonderful place to be heard by lots of people who want to go to attend a speaker series like yours!
I look forward to attending your series, to meet you and the wonderful authors you have asked to come in to share their knowledge.
Thanks for the creation of this event!

    Hi Brian ~

Just wanted to say I’ve been attending your weekly series at the Lisle Depot Museum. EXCELLENT! I hope you will run it again next year.

I’m sure it will be awhile before you run out of Chicago authors but even if you did, it would be great to have some repeat visits by this year’s speakers. I’m sure there’s plenty of additional topics they could cover beyond what they’ve already presented. (My personal favorites: Ursula Bielski and Ann Durkin Keating.)

Kudos to you and the Lisle Park District for this informative, entertaining, heartwarming, fascinating and surprising series!
